Thought I’d include the actual audio mp3 in case you wanted to listen to it without opening up the quiet time in my last post.

Yesterday I went to Panera, one of my favorite bakeries, for coffee and quiet time with the Lord. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with some responsibilities. When I arrived I saw one of my pastor friends and smiled, walked up to him, and greeted him with a warm “hello!” He said, “Catherine, how are you?” I told him about some exciting things that were happening and then I shared how I was feeling just a bit overwhelmed. He smiled and told me a story about his daughter and how she had called him and said, “Dad, I’m just not sure what I’m going to do in my life.” He responded to her by saying, “There’s your problem. It’s not your life. It’s His life.” Oh, I needed to hear those words!! What an incredible reminder to me about WHOSE I AM!! It’s not I who live, but Christ lives in me, according to Paul in Galatians 2:20. The whole truth about belonging to Christ and His work in and through us is so powerful. I spent some time today writing a quiet time and even embedded a little audio file at the end just for you. It’s in Acrobat pdf format and you can actually just click on the links for the Bible verses. You can type your insights in the quiet time then make sure you save it to your computer. God bless you dear friend and enjoy!!!
What a birthday celebration everyone gave me this year. I was totally overwhelmed! Our women at Southwest Community Church totally surprised me with a catered lunch from The Butler Did It. The food was incredible and the fellowship was amazing. These women are my precious friends, love the Lord, and encourage me in my relationship with the Lord. They gave me a jacket from Chico’s with Women of Worth (our theme this year) embroidered on the back. And then, the cake was a wonder to behold. Check it out - they had the cover of my most recent book, Passionate Prayer, painted on top - I don’t know how they did it but you can see it here. Amazing.
And then, the Quiet Time Ministries team took me out to breakfast at one of our favorite places - Desert Willow Golf Resort. They have just the best breakfast food and we all love it! They showered me with wonderful cards, many with the theme of the dance since that is the most recent book I’ve written. Then they gave me the most meaningful wonderful gift you can imagine - a painting by my favorite artist - an original watercolor - by Kathleen Rousar. I was overwhelmed. You can see it here. And if you haven’t seen Kathleen’s paintings, just wait, you will, and then you’ll know why her paintings are my favorite. This painting is titled APPLES ON SILVER, a part of her series REFLECTIONS ON PROVERBS 25:11, “A word aptly spoken is like apples (fruit) on settings of silver.” It makes me cry just to think about this amazing gift. I will treasure it always. But even more, I will treasure the wonderful friends the Lord has given me. Birthdays like this cause me to think about these blessings from the Lord, each with a name - all my blessed friends. Thank you dear friends!! And God bless you.
